NSW medtech takes centre stage at San Diego BIO 2022

NSW’s leading research and medtech capabilities will be showcased to the world at one of the largest global biotech events this week.

Minister for Enterprise, Investment and Trade Stuart Ayres said the NSW Government is supporting 13 leading biotech innovators to participate in the BIO International Convention 2022 in San Diego, promoting NSW’s health and medtech capabilities to a global network of customers and distributors, and attracting increased investment into the sector.

“Medtech is a leading sector in NSW contributing $2 billion to our state’s economy and the US Australia’s second largest medtech export market,” Mr Ayres said.

“The medtech market in the US is expanding rapidly and we want NSW companies to be front and centre of this growth.

“Participants will have the unique opportunity to attend the convention as part of the NSW delegation with direct access to investors, partners and US industry leaders.”

Andrew Hoggan from PainChek exhibiting with the NSW Government, said the event attracts leading industry professionals from across the globe.

“Attending BIO 2022 gives us the opportunity to connect with thought leaders and businesses from around the world, allowing us to showcase our work and further build our profile on a global scale,” Mr Hoggan said.

NSW’s participation at BIO 2022 is in partnership with AusBiotech, Australia’s industry body representing life sciences.
