Intellectual Property & Commercialisation Framework

The Office for Health and Medical Research has updated the NSW Health Policy Directive: Intellectual Property arising from Health Research. This Policy Directive outlines the obligations of Public Health Organisations and employees regarding intellectual property arising from health research. The policy provides a clear and consistent guide for Public Health Organisations to protect their intellectual property arising from research.

NSW Health Commercialisation Framework

The NSW Health Commercialisation Framework is designed to provide accessible information to NSW Health employees engaged in the commercialisation of intellectual property. This document is to be used as guidance only and does not supersede NSW Health IP policy or any other governing policies.


Support for Intellectual Property and Commercialisation in NSW Health Entities

The Office for Health and Medical Research is in the process of establishing a Central Support Service to assist NSW Health entities with the management of intellectual property and related commercialisation matters.

In the meantime, we are available to provide advice on the intent of the IP Policy and related commercialisation matters. If your request requires legal or contractual advice, we recommend that you seek advice from appropriate legal counsel within your organisation.
