The NSW Health Commercialisation Training Program (CTP) is open to researchers, scientists, clinicians, entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs and those in the health sector who are working on a novel medical device, diagnostic or therapeutic product, or a software that is considered a medical device.
NSW Health is investing in the people of NSW who are driving innovation in the medical and health sector. We are committed to helping innovators build skills and knowledge on how to commercialise innovations successfully, form stronger networks across the state, and nurture novel medical technology.

Customer DiscoveryDuring 7 weekly workshops, every Thursday for 7 weeks from 24th July – 4th September 2025 9am-5pm, you will build your knowledge and skills in science communication, pitching, market opportunity assessment, customer segmentation, building a commercial strategy, and learn how to attract investors, staff, and strategic partners. Free for NSW-based participants. One Day SeminarsThe one-day seminars series covers four key topics which are key during the commercialisation and development of health innovations. Delivered by industry and healthcare experts, you’ll walk away with a comprehensive overview of each topic and an understanding of where you can go for more information. Introduction to Intellectual Property: 5th August 2025 Free for NSW-based participants.

The NSW Health Commercialisation Training Program has been designed by leading experts to nurture innovative, early stage health tech solutions, and help innovators to build sustainable businesses in NSW.
One of the benefits of the program is that it has been created to meet you at the stage that best suits you. This allows you to join at any point of the program, depending on the stage of your health innovation.
You can learn at your own pace and structure your learning around a timeline which works for you and your idea.
An evaluation of the NSW Health Commercialisation Training Program was undertaken by the Office for Health and Medical Research in 2025, and is the first evaluation of a program of this type in Australia.
